Family: Campanulaceae — harebell family

Species in the harebell family are annual or perennial herbs with alternate, simple leaves that may have entire or lobed blades. The flowers may be actinomorphic (radially symmetrical) or zygomorphic (bilaterally symmetrical). The sepals and petals usually occur in fives and usually are attached at the top of the ovary (i.e., the ovary is inferior). The petals are united at the base, often forming a tube or bell. There are 5 stamens that may be fused together at the base. The fruit is usually a dry capsule with pores to release the many small seeds.
