Location notes: Mt. Toby - terrestrial (upland, non-aquatic habitat) - wetlands (land areas with soil that is saturated with water either permanently or seasonally) - Woody plant - Gray Birch

Comments: Leaf blade is simple (lobed or unlobed but not separated into leaflets) - One leaf per node along the stem - Edge of the leaf blade has teeth - Bark is thin and smooth
