Native Plant Trust: Go Botany Discover thousands of New England plants

Sighting: Plantago major at Midlothian, VA

by woodlandone on June 16 2015

Location notes: Woodland path in shade, near a dry creek/stream, among other natives planted by owner (me)

Comments: I was surprised to see this plant. Before I noted the flower stalk, I thought it might be a self-sown purple coneflower or Va bluebell. They both thrive in my compost-mulched beds and self sow readily. There are MANY small plants of these coming up. Now I'm going out to pull them up! :-D
