Sighting: Epipactis helleborine at Found with plant acquired from local Union, NJ nursery
by ELAINEC on July 18 2014
Comments: The plant prefers some shade. It roots and spreads like convullaria. It is approximately 12" H. The leaves surround and exit the stem in an alternating pattern. [This is a non-native orchid called helleborine orchid, not lily-of-the-valley.] The unscented flowers look like orchids with light green sepals (or petals) . The basil field is brown, the labellum white, the column yellow. Please help with identification. Thank you,Elaine
