Location notes: Connecticut River Floodplain - Rainbow Beach Conservation Area - terrestrial (upland, non-aquatic habitat)/wetland (land areas with soil that is saturated with water either permanently or seasonally) - Ferns - Ostrich Fern

Comments: Leaf blade is compound (divided into leaflets) - Leaf blade is twice compound (divided into leaflets, which are further divided into leaflets) - Leaves grow from a rhizome growing at or below the ground - Spore-bearing fronds are dramatically different from the sterile fronds - No sori, or they are concealed in leaf segments or hardened, capsule-like structures derived from a modified leaflet - Leaf stalk has scales - Leaf stalk has hairs - No hairs on the leaf stalk - Leaf blade length: 30–130 cm - Veins go all the way to the edge of the leaf blade
