Facts
Cumin is a plant of the Mediterranean and Western Asia, escaping cultivation elsewhere. However, it is not invasive in North America, being collected in the wild only rarely. In New England, it has been collected in the wild only in Massachusetts. Cumin is an important culinary herb in Middle Eastern and South Asian cuisines.
