Facts
Red-seeded dandelion is native to Europe and widely introduced in North America. The leaf blades are more narrowly and deeply lobed than other dandelion (Taraxacum) species. All parts of the plant are edible.

red-seeded dandelion. Leontodon erythrospermum (Andrz. ex Bess.) Britt.; Taraxacum erythrospermum Andrz. ex Bess. • CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT. Fields, lawns, waste areas, roadsides. The leaf blades of this species tend to have narrower lobes and deeper sinuses than other species of Taraxacum. Once learned, this trait is useful for forming an initial hypothesis concerning the identity of vegetative specimens.
