Genus: Calamagrostis — reed grass
The genera Agrostis, Calamagrostis, and Deyeuxia are closely related. Some taxonomists would place most of our species of Calamagrostis within the genus Deyeuxia, but genetic evidence does not support this. Reference: Marr et al. (2007).
