Facts

"Inland" gilia is somewhat curiously named, as it is known in North America only from both coasts! It is native to California and rarely occurs in North America. In fact, the only collection in New England was from the waste site of a nineteenth-century wool carding factory in Massachusetts. To distinguish this species from its other two relatives in New England, look for spidery hairs along the stem and at the leaf axils.
