Genus: Ranunculus — crowfoot
Genetic and morphological studies have shown that this genus should be divided into smaller parts. In New England, in addition to many species remaining in Ranunculus, one taxon each is now placed in Coptidium and Ficaria. References: Duncan (1980), Emadzade et al. 2010, Whittemore (1997).
